Pokémon Go Fuzzy Buddy Research Event Details

Pokemon Go's Fuzzy Buddy Research Day takes place on Saturday, March, 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event is ideal if you're trying to evolve or get a Shiny version of the Featured Pokémon.

Featured Pokémon

Event-themed Field Research tasks will award encounters with the featured Pokémon, which include:

• Teddiursa*
• Cubchoo*
• Pancham*
• Stufful* (requires 400 Candy to evolve)

There's an increased Shiny chance for the four featured Pokémon.

Event-themed Field Research

All event-themed Field Research reward an encounter with one of the four featured Fuzzy Buddy Research Day Pokémon (chosen randomly). The tasks include:

• Catch 5 Pokémon
• Catch 5 Normal-type Pokémon
• Use 3 Nanab Berries while catching Pokémon.
• Make 3 Nice Throws in a row
• Make 3 Nice Curveball Throws
• Make 3 Great Throws
• Make a Great Curveball Throw
• Make 5 Curveball Throws
• Make 3 Curveball Throws in a row
• Battle in a Gym
• Powerup a Pokémon 3 times
• Spin 2 PokéStops or Gyms
• Earn 3 Hearts with your Buddy
• Earn a Candy while exploring with your Buddy
• Send 3 Gifts and add a sticker to each
• Use a Supereffective Charged Attack

Wild Encounters

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

• Sentret*
• Slakoth*
• Bidoof*
• Minccino*
• Bunnelby*

*Can be shiny

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.

This Timed Research requires completion of Field Research tasks to encounter more of your choice of the featured Pokémon. After completing your first Timed Research, you can select another of the featured Pokémon for a second Timed Research opportunity.
