Pokémon Go Mega Absol Raid Day Details

Mega Absol Raid Day runs from 2PM to 5PM local time on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Notes for Defeating Mega Absol

Mega Absol is a pure Dark-type Pokémon. As such, it is weak against Fighting, Fairy, and Bug Types.

Pokemon that have recently appeared in Raids, Max Battles, or featured in events that excel versus Absol include:

  • Mega Lucario (it's most effective if you use an Elite Fast TM to have it learn Force Palm)
  • Mega Gallade
  • Mega Pinsir (currently available in Raids)
  • Terrakion
  • Machamp (currently available in Max Battles)
  • Conkeldurr
  • Tapu Koko
  • Incarnate Forme Enamorus

Mega Absol's Fast Attacks can be either Snarl (Dark) or Psycho Cut (Psychic). Beward as Psycho Cut will cut through your Fighting types in short order as Absol has high Attack (dodging is recommended). It's Charged Attacks can be either Dark Pulse (Dark), Payback (Dark), Megahorn (Bug), or Thunder (Electric). 

Event Bonuses

  • The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 from Saturday, March 22, at 5:00 PM to Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 8:00 PM PDT.
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of six).
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Absol from Mega Raids.
  • Featured Attack - Absol encountered in raids will know the Charged Attack Brutal Swing. After the event, Absol will only be able to learn the featured attack Brutal Swing via an Elite Charged TM.
    • Brutal Swing
      • Trainer Battles: 55 power
      • Gyms and raids: 65 power

A $5 Event Ticket is available for Mega Absol Raid Day

You can get a limited-time Event Ticket for $5.00 US (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). It grants the following bonuses:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 14)
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

These bonuses will be effective on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

The Event Ticket will only be available in the in-game shop until Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM local time.

Timed Research

A free Timed Research quest will be available during the event.

Rewards for the Timed Research include:

  • 10,000 Stardust
  • 1,000 additional Stardust for completing a Raid Battle (for a total of 2,000 Stardust, or 3,000 Stardust with the event ticket)
